About This Podcast

The Great Individuation podcast explores two urgent and interwoven questions:

1. How can depth psychology evolve into a more complete understanding of the mind and individuation—becoming who we truly are?

2. How can this understanding remedy egocentrism, the core species flaw responsible for war, suffering, and the loss of deep purpose?

A mind trapped in egocentrism is an unhealthy mind. A nation-state ruled by egocentrism is ruthless, self-serving, and destructive to the planet. But egocentrism is not an unchangeable fate—it can be understood, confronted, and ultimately transcended. True individuation, fully realized, dissolves egocentrism at its root and opens the door to a life of wisdom, meaning, and deep connection.

What Makes This Podcast Different?

We bring together Jungian depth psychology and Dzogchen mind science psychology—two profound but often disconnected traditions. Each has what the other is missing, and together they illuminate the deepest path to individuation.

*Jungian Depth Psychology is the only psychological tradition fully dedicated to individuation—the lifelong journey of becoming who one truly is in time. As Murray Stein has written, “The demanding requirement for individuation is to return to one’s nature, to one’s true being.”

*Dzogchen is the pinnacle of contemplative mind science, unveiling the mind’s deepest nature in the direct, nondual experience of the Self. It offers an atemporal path—one that reveals that our truest nature is already complete, beyond time itself. As Jim Manganiello explains, “When the mind becomes conscious of its timeless nature, it can relax into a life that can be well-lived, loved, and understood—in time.”

Why Does This Matter?

By exploring these two perspectives as interdependent we go beyond psychology as we know it—beyond the limits of intellectual understanding—into a direct, lived experience of transformation. Into a healthy mind with an ego conscious of its source and guided by this awareness. This podcast is for those who sense that something deeper is possible—that individuation, when fully realized, holds the key to overcoming egocentrism and reclaiming the wisdom, conviction, and inspiration our world so desperately needs. Join us as we explore the next frontier of psychology—one that doesn’t just explain the mind, but liberates it.

"The work we must do to return to our essential nature, to our true being is BOTH— “in time” and “beyond time.”
